  • What's causing light patches on lawn?

    Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help. I have a few light patches on my lawn and I'm not sure what the cause is and what I need to do to restore the grass. Any ideas?

      Hi Jon and welcome
I know nothing about lawns, especially the ones without weeds. Is yours newly laid turf?

      Do you have a pet?

        Hi,

The lawn was laid as turf just over a year ago now.

I don't have any pets but there are some cats in the neighbourhood. I've never seem them go to toilet on my lawn but it is a possibility.

          Hi Jon

          It could be leather jackets

Ah right... I will do a bit of research then. Sounds like if you leave your garden covered with black polythene over night then they will come up to the surface.

Looks like fusarium to me or even red thread? Both are fungal problems and your enclosed garden will make an ideal environment for it with poor air flow.
