  • The Gardeners Rest Explained...........................

Please note this is MY interpretation of what the GR is and other Grapes might see it differently.

OK - The Gardeners Rest is a virtual pub whose location, size, decoration, style and usage is only virtual. As such it can be everything you want it to be.
It allows Grapes to stretch their imagination, laugh, have company and generally create chaos.
These next months are not so good for any type of grower whether it's a pot on the windowsill or acres of fields. Plus anything in the middle so the GR enables Grapes to be occupied whilst they are waitin, with baited breath for Spring.
Anything goes as long as it is family friendly, not abusive, not bullying etc. That type of behaviour will NOT be tolerated.

On a serious point - there are many people who, because of their situation could do with a bit of company. The media idea of Christmas is, sadly not what everyone gets. so the GR offers the chance for those, like myself, to have some company with people I value.

So, if you are a Grape or Lurker (you will have to register) please, please come and join us in the evolving story that really does display human kindness and consideration with a fair amount of chaos thrown in.

P.S Can a MOD Sticky this for the duration please so it's obvious for anyone who wants to have a read.

Possibly you should have explained that some of us do try to keep it sane, but are often misdirected by a certain section of the clientele

Thank you LD for mentoring that pub and alcohol are NOT the issue.
Rary who are you talking about?

FIt seems to be very obvious that peeps want the GR open now. We have 2 threads running that are the GR but not. So, until it’s open can I please, in advance, book that little three legged stool next to the fireplace. It’s a brilliant place to sit and watch the action and only get involved when I want to. The problem in that is trying to get my glass refilled when I have to leave my seat and get involved in what ever mayhem is going on at the time, usually involving gnomes, elves or the fairy. (Did you notice that i’ve managed to avoid the C or X words).

I liked the GR better as it was when first started, a never-ending storybook that everyone added a few lines to, leaving a half finished sentence which the next grape added to, often changing the direction of the story.

Now it's just a virtual pub. Sorry.

So I probably won't be joining in again this year.
