  • Job Vacancy for The Gardeners Rest

Sorry to have to tell you this but Rary will no longer be acquiring The Gardeners Rest Christmas tree due to stress and confusion.

Applicants are invited to submit their CV's to fill this most important post. Last year Rary, for reasons best know to himself was unable to find the chosen tree for the virtual pub and has subsequently resigned from the position of Tree Fella.

if any Grape feels able to step into Rary's clogs to carry on this important position please reply on here.

The selected tree is very similar to the one Rary was supposed to accquire last year but was unable to find it as he got confused as to which one it was.

This is an image of the same tree so if anyoe would like to chop, collect and deliver to The Gardeners Rest by the 30th November so VC can throw balls over it we would be most pleased.

Lumpy, I have to ask, is that tree dead 'cos it looks a funny colour? Have you been "watering" it again as they say that Effelump wee is very potent!!

Good observation VC but no I’ve not been putting nefflelump wee wee on it.
I’m very thankful to the lovely and generous Rary but needs be.

Do you think it’s not suitable for your balls? If so I’ll mooch about for another prime specimen.

There was a rumour that rary had the balls but its a very old rumour, but then, so is rary.
I can contribute some feather garlands I've been knitting this year after my moult if they'll do?

I can supply a tree. Might take some effort to get it there, but the GR being what it is and the Tardis being what it is and Talulah (or whatever her name is, sorry no good with names but even worse with faces - got that face blindness thing) being who she is, I'm sure the tree being here and the GR being there, wherever that is, I can't see it being a massive problem.

OK, that's the wine talking. But I've got hundreds of trees and happy to donate one.

So that’s the tree sorted. I can’t see any point in fixing the decor before the festivities as they will only need redoing again in January and we didn’t do it last time.

I am pleased to announce that after serious consideration of all of the applicants .......................Snoop Puss will be our new Gardeners Rest tree go getter.

My advice is to discuss the appropriate tree size with VC to make sure her feathery dandlies are long enough to decorate the branches and Rary to make sure his glittery balls are a suitable size.

Snoop....If it's going inside could you make sure it's got a bendy top so we don't need to cut a hole in the ceiling...again

VC you are a chicken after my own heart.

Now, Snoop like Nicos said the tree really does need a bendy top. Unlike last year can you try and find one that does not have a family of wombats living in it as Tullulah the barmaid has allergies. Also you will need to consider ease of decorating as both myself and VC have very little legs and I really don't want to have to watch the spectacle of VC swaying around on a ladder with Rary's glittery balls tucked under her beak trying to decorate the upper branches. However, if Rary had actually let go of them first it might have been slightly easier.

                          P.S Where is Rary?
