  • growing seeds in old cheese boxes

We like Waitrose Cornish Camembert. It comes in those little wooden round boxes, about 8cm across and about 5cm tall. I wonder if they would make biodegradable pots, and how long they would take to biodegrade?

My current plan is to grow something like lavender seeds in them that take an age to get going, then I can plant them in the pots in about 1 year's time.

You could try parsley or basil on the windowsill with them now then plant them into a bigger pot soon to see if the roots will grow through? I think lavender needs thinning to give each plant more space, although you can thin them out whatever container they’re grown in,if you made little holes in the base you would definitely get roots growing through to the next pot
