    Late and poorly flowering Gladioli (NOT Delphiniums

    This year my Gladioli (not Delphs, can't edit title) have only produced one stalk of flowers between about 10 bulbs. Last year in the same location they did really well.

    I did my best to water them in the dry spells - but I wonder if it was drought/heat that stressed them in summer. Also, they are about 2-3 years old, are they likely to be past their best?

    Could be stress or the corms are past their best. Did you lift them last Autumn?

        I did lift them, (let them dry off and stored them in a dark box in a cool garage).

        They are 2-3 years old - is that old in Gladioli years?

          They are usually lifted, if you don’t then all the baby bulbils will grow giving a lot of grassy growth. It’s a matter of choice.

            Probably lack of water - lots of flowers didn’t give their best this year for that reason.
