  • Green hazelnuts?

Anyone else got green hazelnuts falling?...not quite sure what to do with them.
They usually drop when they are brown.

I've seen plenty for sale in the shops here.
Any ideas how to use them?

I've eaten a few raw, tasted nice, maybe add to a bread mix or scones?

If you keep them in a warm dry place they will ripen to brown. Put them on newspaper in shallow layers or hang in an airy place in a mesh bag. They need to be shaken up or turned now and then so they dry evenly.

Just leave them to ripen as per Mothhawks post.

A little bit about hazelnuts here worth a read, gives you reasons on why it's best to pick them green! Get in before the squirrels! https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/blo...ick-hazelnuts/

Looks like I best start collecting some of them!
I have heard the mice in the walls/roof both storing and chewing their way into some of them already.
