  • Small Mini & Micro Tomatoes

OK, its getting dark early and I have started planning what to grow next year and I'm turning my eye towards Tomatoes as I'm in the process of finishing off harvesting and seed collecting for myself and the seed tomato circle on here. My question is can anyone suggest very small dwarf plants that can be grown in say a 150mm or 6" pot on a window ledge or greenhouse other than the ones I already have listed below.

I grew most of those this year on the shelf in the GH.

Bajaja was a very sprawling plant and took up as much room as the tumblers.

Here are my small pot toms today.

There's a thread about the varieties at https://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gr...oms_95631.html with suggestions.

Gelbe topftomate - you probably already have the seed? A small yellow cherry tomato, plants reach about 12-14inches high? Mine in the GH is spent - will take a photo in a bit. But I’ve started another on my window sill for growing on in the kitchen over autumn.

I've got five 6" pots with Red Robin, sown in mid June approx 10" high and quite a few 3/4" green fruit. I'm driving down to the Algarve for four weeks in Oct/Nov and taking them with me as they'll die if left here. They won't get much bigger and hoping the taste is up to the description. They look so healthy.

Where are you keeping those Rob? That’s a lot of plants to try to grow on indoors?

I have 2 Tiny Tim?tom plants that only get to about 12in high.
The toms are nice tasting but I've found that you really have to have a ferret amonst the tightly clenched leaves to find them all.

It's only five Scarlet, at the moment they're in the garden on the back of my motorbike and when they come inside, on my front windowsill.
There should be enough room in my camper on the trip, I'll just have to make sure the mutt doesn't decide he wants a snack.

As the daylight hours decrease the plants will start to stall and won't really put on much growth. If they aren't far off ripening within the next few weeks you may be better off making green chutney.

Taking them on holiday for a month might give them a boost, a family trip.

Nope it's not one that I have heard off or have in my tomato seed bank.

Grew Currant Red and Currant Yellow some years back, very small toms, cannot recall the plant size and great fun. Only some 4-5mm diameter

See that Moreveg have them now, bought mine elsewhere at the time. Time was some 10-12 years back.

Actually may order myself a pack of each as they were good.

It is my first year growing micro toms and I am hoping to breed some of my own (after all these years of plant breeding being on my to do list). I have

                            Hahn's Gelbe
                            Tiny Tim
                            Tom Minibel
                            Tom Micro
                            Sweet n Neat Yellow
                            Venus

I find the following list handy as it has most of the heights and will inspire my future micro seed hoard

                            Aztek 8

Are these heights in inches? And if so, do you really get six inch high tomatoes - with fruit!?
Mostly flowers, some fruit and veg, at the seaside in Edinburgh.
