  • Piccalilli Recipe

My G Mar made fabulous picalli.
I used to but the small jars from the M supermarket. Then it all became mushed up.

Has anyone got a recipe for proper picalli with big chunks of cauliflower etc that I can make.

I don’t need industrial amounts as only I eat the stuff.

Did you mean to type "Pucallpa" Lumpy?

I can change it if you want me to!

        Sorry VC it’s my spelling.
No, I meant piccalilli. You know the cauliflower, onion, gerkin thingy in a mustard sauce

I'm guessing the title is a typo/autocorrect - can't see what Peru has to do with Piccalilli

I'm guessing the bits can be as big as you want.

I made some once - it may still be in the back of the fridge, glowing yellow.

Any idea how I’d convert the amounts into enough for 2 small jars for me?
I like the look of the RC recipe.

The RC recipe makes 3 jars the size of a normal jar of jam, so how big are your jars?

Well, JL what I’d really like is half a dozen jars the size of the mini jam ones famous in B&Bs.
OK I know that it would have to be small cauliflower etc but it’s only for me.

The recipie would fill 5 of these (with enough left to lick off the spoon)
                            https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-tw...B&gclsrc=aw.ds

                            or about 24 of these
                            https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-mi...B&gclsrc=aw.ds

                            or these
                            https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/35-x-45ml...TScb8ibjVA3Kfg

so if there the 1.5oz jars your on about then for 6 you'd need a quarter of the amounts.

That recipe makes 3X340g jars....so will make 6 smaller ones? Even if you open it it should keep in the fridge for a while?unopened for a year so it’s worth making the whole lot and filling some little jars?
