Hi Paul and welcome to the vine.

One thing you might notice about the vine is that it's full of enquiring people.

With that in mind, hows your experience been - pit falls and triumphs, preferences and dislikes, fave things to grow, weirdest thing you've grown, etc, etc, etc.

Good question - last year as my first year was a breeze, certainly compared to this year. A combination of not overthinking and beginners luck meant I had few disasters. This year, with the harsh late spring, early heatwave and searing dry summer heat meant I had far more. The biggest challenge was slugs early days. I sowed everything at least 3 times and eventually came good.

Nothing quite compares to the excitement and expectation of digging up potatoes for me.

        Thanks again for the welcome!

Where in N Herts? Ask as I know there is one other member of here in Letchworth and you might therefore be sharing the place with them. Although I think Letchworth has about 8 allotment sites and there is the Baldock ones as well.

May be a source of information and sharing of ideas, maybe even plants+seeds etc.
