After much deliberation we have taken the decision to suspend the MoM award. The original concept was to reward grapes who provided good rounded advice on gardening, or who made a significant effort in making the Grapevine a nice place to be.
We have asked you to nominate members who deserve recognition for the positive contribution they make to the Vine, and we rely heavily on these nominations in putting names forward to Admin. However, over time, these nominations have become less and less. Without your support, it has become increasingly difficult to select a Mom each month.
Although it has never been a commitment, the Admin team have recognised the valuable contributions made by the Mom by sending them a gift. However, problems with their supplier has led to delays and comments have been made by MoMs about this. We are still pursuing these gifts but it is out of the Mods' hands and we can make no promises..
Quite frankly, there is a lot of work involved in setting up and liaising between the Mom and Admin and it doesn't always run smoothly. Therefore, we feel that it is time to have a break. Its not to say that there won't be a MoM in the future but for now, you must consider yourselves all to be Members of the Month, and maybe, one day you will have that Banner beneath your name.
