  • Celery heart rot

I’m usually successful growing celery but the first lot seem to be affected by heart rot. Anyone know how to prevent it?

    Thanks

Heart rot is caused by a lack of calcium so water regularly with a solution of Calcium Nitrate (the only soluble form of calcium) in water. I do that every Monday as a matter of routine. The day of the week doesn't matter but selecting and sticking to a day makes it less easy to forget applying the treatmment.

When I say water, I drizzle the solution down the centre of the plant making sure it gets a good drenching
