In theory, should float on water - so if you never empty your IBC to below the level of the tap, you 'shouldn't' get oil in your watering can?Can't say I've tested it, just extrapolating from salad dressing!

I was going to say... i wouldn't bother emptying it as any residue will float on top of the water as Chestnut says and even if some does come out it's not going to harm your crops!?!?

Very jealous... i've been looking for one for a while. Might be worth taking the cube out of the frame, wrapping it in black plastic to cut light out of it and help prevent stuff growing in it. Then put it back in the frame.

Awesome, that's a bargain. They are around double that in my area. I keep thinking about getting one but am not sure it would fit in my van! How heavy are they when empty?

I picked up 2 IBC's from Hereford on the top of my Volvo estate - the weight wasn't huge, but they were awkward to lift because of the shape - I'd say around 15 Kg each as a guesstimate. I didn't get the metal cages, as the bloke was keeping those for his log business.

A quick search online and a couple of websites saying about 56KG. The guy who delivered it for me said he managed to get in on his van by himself.
I'd thought about getting some black spray paint and the wrapping a willow screen around him to make it look pretty.

Glycerine is industrial anti freeze which is poisonous to cats in neat concentrations.

But dilutes easily with water so give it a good wash out and pour this washing down the drain.

Wash with water to get the glycerine out and then normal washing up liguid will help disolve the oil. quite where to dispose of the wash contents I can't say. Washing up liguid is perfectly safe to plants and can even be a food for them in weak concentrations.
