These are HORRIBLE!

Here in Edinburgh in my last garden I had New Zealand flatworm for a bit about 15-20 years ago. I was so sorry to think of my earthworms being ingested by these monsters, especially as I had nurtured the earthworms over the years by regular mulching, and had them in large numbers.

One time I put a NZ flatworm a jar with a lid to show my nephew (after which I was going to stand on it). Unfortunately the name flatworm means exactly that - and it managed to escape and get away.

In the end though, the NZ invaders just disappeared, and my worms were safe.

Hopefully our climate will prove too cold/wet/otherwise unsuitable for these new horrors. Especially that blue thing......eek!
