  • Hi everyone

    Hi Everyone

56 yo guy from Durham here and a newbie to growing fruit and veg. I have enjoyed my gardening for years now and up until recently only had a 4 shelf plastic greenhouse thingy but now i have upped it to a 6 x 4 plastic greenhouse and i have already been helped out by reading some of the great articles on here.

My first attempts at growing fruit and veg are

    Toms
    Peppers
    Chillis
    Strawberries
    Beetroot
    Radish
    Lettuce
    Blackberrys
    Carrots and Potatoes

Fingers crossed and pleased to meet you all

Welcome to the vine winning studio!
I’m also a tomato, pepper and chilli fan - what varieties are you growing?

Hello. I'm growing everything that you are, except no tomatoes this year and the blackberry isn't very intentional and may get chopped down before it fruits!

Hi - I'm 62 myself and have been gardening most of my life. I grow a lot of fruit, partly because I love eating it and partly because if fits in best with my rather lazy "sometimes I feel like it - sometimes I don't " approach to getting jobs done, ie trees, bushes and vines are better able to withstand months of benign neglect than most veg is.

          Happy gardening :-)

            Hi Scarlet

Tomatoes are Plum Roma and Ailsa Craig

            Peppers are Parade and Capino

Chillis are Hot Thai Dragon, Paper Lantern and Jalapeno.

From what I have read i need to be very careful with the Thai Dragon

I always thought you were older than me, Baldy, ..............and now you've confirmed it.

Welcome WS (sorry about the familiarity but its a long name to type) - you may call me VC.
