Somewhere that grapes my find interesting - Croome (stately home near Pershore in Warks)
    https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/croome
has a recent-ishly re-opened walled Garden. (It's not actually run by the national trust, so it's an extra fiver on top per adult, which is a bit of a nuisance).
apparently, it was one of the largest in Europe, and it has a surviving hot wall down the length of one side (and some underground heating tunnels you can squeeze into). There's also a couple of hot houses you can look round in, chickens running free in the flowerbeds, the usual vegetable cultivation and a small visitor centre.

The fiver includes free tea and cake, so it's not all bad...

Sounds lovely. If I were to let our chickens loose in among the beds, there'd be little left. Mind you, the weeds would go the same way as the lettuce!
