  • Early Rasps

Just picked up 9 bare rooted Glen Clova rasps from the local nursery, planted out in their new bed, £1.50 each didn't seem bad price and most are showing signs of life.

Will double cropped autumn raspberries be earlier than summer ones ?. Well that's my hope to spread the season. At present they seem well ahead

I prefer the taste of earlier Rasps to Autumn ones, so I don't grow the late ones any more, but double cropping did work for me crop wise, just the flavour let them down for me. No idea what variety they were as they were a gift.

How did you get on with the trap? I've been using one for the last few years and they work really well.

It didnt save mine from quite bad damage dispite catching around 20. Only excuse for trap is maybe I got one too late as flowers were all out when it arrived mid may

Suppose its the time of year to be ordering trap refills, any good deals about other than fleabay as the traps seem rather an expensive occupation ?
