I do love our native plants, I have planted many in my various gardens over the years, I have tried growing Snakes Head Fritillary before with no real success, but this year I have them everywhere.

I have a few too, they are so exotic looking, but so happy growing in my garden. Unfortunately I think I pull some up when trying to get rid of lesser celandine, which grows through everything at this time of year.Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land

The name Fritillary comes form the Latin fritillus, a dice-box, - someone thought the pattern on the flower was like that on the boxes the Romans kept their dice in.Comment

Wee google and ... were once common in markets around England as kids picked them in the meadows.Comment
