Went out in the twilight this evening and there was a bat hunting above the lawn - looked really lovely doing box runs around over the grass.

Not a bat Nick but a flyer all the same
, was painting my wall this aft when a red kite flew right over me and soooo low it was untrue, awesome.
I screamed at the wife " wheres my phone, gotta get a pic" , oh yea, in my pocket...too late.

Snap!.....first bat here last night too!
OH was pointing out the lightning in the distance, but my attention was purely on the bat!

Have never seen kites around here - we do get lots of buzzards though - I think their numbers have increased from when I was young. Saw a pair of them tumbling once from my garden - really spectacular.Comment
