    some help please, i would like to know what is the best gooseberry to have , i want it golden not green, i did have three Xenia but they all died it seems as they did not like to much water when i took them out no roots on them. Thank you

    I'm hoping to find Early Sulphur for sale locally, as a good sort I used to grow.

    Be aware, it may be difficult to buy gooseberry bushes now at a reasonable price, since its a bit late for bare root sales.

    Best to think of gooseberries as small apple trees from the POV of growing - they need well drained soil and sensible pruning to establish a branch structure.

      You could look into the RHS AGM varieties listed here,I can’t remember the names of mine but I don’t know if they’re the best out there,I used to just take AGM lists to the garden centre with me

        Yellow champagne almost golden with a sublime flavour , berries aren’t large , an can occasionally suffer mildew ,
