  • Suffering plum and peach trees

    Hi there

I was hoping for some help with my peach and plum tree. I was given them as bare root trees for Christmas although I believe they were bought 3 weeks before Christmas. I was then away so didn't plant them for a couple of weeks after Christmas. Not great I know

They have been planted in 2 50l pots. As I planted the plum it had a couple of leaves starting to grow.

Since planting there's been no signs of life. The couple of leaf buds stopped and haven't grown since although they're still there and still green. Other than that nothing. Even the buds look a but sad.

I did a scratch of the branches and the main trunk is green. The bottom 2/3 of the branches are also green but the ends off the branches seem to be dead.

What should I do? Any recommendations?

    Thanks
    Tom

    Tommy wait for another while.
The weather has been do cold. Everything is behind this year.
The fact that there is life in the tree should give you hope.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

      a) a photo would help please
      b) where are they ?
      c) how wet is the compost ?

      Cheers Nick

BTW probably not much you can do but wait and see - the period between when they were bought and when you were first able to do something with them, could be the issue.
