  • Adding lime

Just a quick one, my KOR apple tree is about 7 years old now, should I be liming it in the spring and/or at other times in the year? So far the regime is that I add some Growmore to the soil around the tree usually in mid March but with the late snow and heavy rain this year I delayed doing that until yesterday. And then in a month or so I put down a mulch for moisture retention in the summer. That's it. No lime incorporated so far. Many thanks

Generally speaking the commercial growers only put on lime if they have a problem with "bitter pit" on their fruit.
Personally I've had some of my trees for over 35 years and never bothered liming the ground, mind you the stone in the ground here is all limestone.
