    Pitcher plant advice needed.

    Hi all. Does anyone have a pitcher plant? (Fly eating plant) not a Venus fly trap.
    I bought one last year at Hampton Court Flower show.
    It thrived and as instructed I put it out in the un heated greenhouse to over winter.
    Since bringing it back in it has no evidence of new leaves or spikes. The only appearance is that of a long stem with a green ball on top bent over. I assume it's a flower having googled it. But there's no mention off the fact nothing else accompanies th flower. Does anyone have one of these. What usually happens now?

    You've got a flower spike forming, these appear generally before the leaves begin to re-grow.

    This is how the pitcher plant uses pollinators without them being attracted to the pitchers instead of the flowers, it needs them to visit other pitcher flowers, not fall into the traps. (yet).

    If you have any dead pitchers, then now's the time to cut them off.

    Sounds normal & healthy.

      Ah thank you seasprout. I can see the logic now of course. I was worried the flower was its last hurrah
      before it turned up it's toes! It's quite fascinating. Not sure if flower has colour. I guess no point trying to encourage pollination as I only have one plant. I had already removed other stems before putting it out last November. But intrigued that many of the cut down stems which were all brown are reverting to green.
