I thought it might be interesting to share and make a note of when your various fruit trees, bushes, plants come into flower...then you can compare Year on year with last frost dates etc? ?....mostly for your personal record.
My mirabelle has been out now for about 4 weeks, but we've had some heavy frosts, so it'll be interesting to see what if it finally produces fruit ( it's about 10 yrs old hand has been zapped by the frost every year)
peach blosson is just opening ..we've not had any fruit for the last 5 years or more cos it always seems to get peach leaf curl or the frost zaps it.
Plum tree...I have 4 of these all unknown varieties...and this one flowers first. Again...no fruit yet from this one even though it's about 6 years old.
Pear tree....I have 3 different varieties ( no idea what but they are very well established) and this one flowers first - the blossoms started opening yesterday.
Last year we had no apples, plums, peaches, and only one pear tree produced fruit.
lets hope this year will be better!
