A few years ago I was reading a book about SFG. Very interesting although I took no notice of the ‘pests’ bit because I’m thick until I came to a bit about deterring raccoons.....,,,even I know their not not native to here.

I like alligators. I used to work with them. When I was training for my animal management qualifications I did a project on them.

Just had 3 more pics from BiL:

                    .............

The blade of the knife holding the fangs out is 6 inches long. And if you think it's a python, you're SO wrong!

It's a 15 foot long, 170lb diamondback rattlesnake and its striking distance was estimated at 5 and a half feet ( normal rattler striking distance is 2 feet).

I shudder to think what it's been living on, but large dogs and small pigs comes to mind, or maybe even small alligators......

And the only thing I’m not keen on in this country is large spiders.

Me too. Makes me feel such a wimp. It was estimated that one dose of venom from those fangs would be large enough to kill 40 people.

a number of years ago I was competing in an international sporting clay championship being held at the elephant hills golf course in victoria falls zimbabwe. a bunch of us were sitting waiting our turn, when a group of english competitors arrived and settled themselves down on the grass next to one of the water features. not wishing to alarm them we politely suggested they move. they off course would have none of it until we pointed out that some of the logs in the water weren't logs! the water was home to half a dozen small, 4 or 5 foot crocodiles, they moved!
