    A little help please , when i was a young lad my dad had some wonderful gooseberry's they were called GOLDEN BALL , big gold berry's very sweet, off the bush can anybody tell me iff they are still around please .

      It’s an old one still very much alive and well golden ball
      Also known as
      Moss’s seedling, early sulphur, golden bull ,
      I’m pretty sure I have it and am propagating my gooseberries up ready for end of year

        That's very interesting - I reckon its the same one that grew in the garden when I was a child, I don't think my mother knew what it was called.

        I propagated some and brought them to my garden here, but for some reason they all eventually died unexpectedly, so I lost them then.

        That's another one definitely for my buying list - no idea where I can cram it in though.
