Interesting ideas for "different" leaves.

We've got loads of nettles you can have for a small consideration

We grew some red veined sorrel as well but never know what to do with it

I'm thinking of doing some nettle picking this year after SWMBO bought me a plant foraging book.....

Just call everything you grow designer microveg and that you always intended it to be this size.

I also “grew” red veined sorrel! It’s like a bl**dy weed!!! ...and no, I don’t like it in soup

I just use it sparingly in amongst my other salad leaves- but there’s only so much salad one can eat!

To be honest that is one leaf I'll not be using. Vicious evil little blighters, at any stage in my opinion. I'll be staying away from them

I grew the Red frills mustard last year and when it's small the leaves really do taste like potatoes, and it surprised the grandkids, but it very quickly grows too hot for me to enjoy in a salad, so unless I have a 'mad moment' it won't get sown this year.

Ive grown that several year running Thelma (I think I split a pack with VC at the Cardiff show after we bought a few to share), I love it and then it suddenly turns....I also love Mexican tree spinach

, again it can become a little invasive but the birds love the seeds

I have some of the frilly green mustard in the GH - everywhere! Its a prolific self seeder.

Best stirfried when it gets "hot"!

Minutina (erba Stella)
Carrot - ferny tops
Lettuce
Celery golden self blanching
Beetroot
Rocket
kale
broccoli
cauliflower
Cabbage
Swiss chard
Radish
Herbs
Basil

Also grow for my salads

Nasturtiums
Pot marigolds
Borage
Pansies
Violas
Water cress

All I have to do now is compare this lot with VC's link and work out what's missing

I'm still not using nettles

Do you think it matters which variety of cucumber you use for flowers?
I was going to use cucamelons.
