  • Repotting a blueberry bush

Just got back from the allotment and a bird feeder (stand up type) has toppled over and hit the plastic pot one on my blueberries is in, making it split. Its starting to bud up already, so is it too late to repot? Realistically it wont be done for a couple of weeks as we’re due bad weather this week.

Sometimes its needs must Bex!A cracked pot will just dry out too quickly. If you pot it up into the same size pot you should be ok.

They sell potted plants for planting out any time of the year so don't think it would be a problem as long as you don't disturb it too much.

It's a bit of a bummer, but - it may give you an opportunity to refresh the ericaceous compost.
.......because you're thinking of putting the kettle on and making a pot of tea perhaps, you old weirdo. (Veggie Chicken - 25/01/18)

Thats very true! I did notice the compost looked a bit low in both blueberry pots, probably from just where its settled a bit. It would probably do them both good as it goes. I’ll have to get to a GC and see what ericaceous compost I can get. Ive got a cranberry plant that needs potting up, so ill do all three at the same time.
