  • Decks NG stain recommendation

My decking is in a very sorry state and needs a well overdue treatment, but I am not sure which stain is better, or what colour would look best.

The garden is quite enclosed and the fence is a dark reddish-brown (antique pine), so I think a darker colour would possibly make the garden feel smaller.

Any recommendations on brand and /or colours?

    Thanks

    Hi
Colour is mainly down to personal preference really.

I prefer the look of 'Natural wood' and wherever I can get that look back by washing or scrubbing etc I go for it.

Have mostly used Thompson Water Seal for many years and been extremely happy with results.
It's not the cheapest ,around £20 per 5 ltr can.
It goes quite a long way and is pretty easy to apply.

I just had a look on g@@gle and found it on the 'Prime' site for £15.39 next day delivery.

I think I'll be getting stocked up ...!!!
    Gp

Thanks geepee, I prefer the natural look as well, but having never had decking before, was unsure whether to colour it or the best products.
I'll check out the Thompson water seal and possibly order some in. Thanks again.
