  • Chicken health

I have noticed over the last few weeks that our chooks have been a bit loose, I cannot find which one it is

They look healthy enough and are around 9 month old now

They have never been wormed yet

    Any ideas? Thanks

Worm them, soon----should be done every 6 months.
    See what happens after that.
Feed the soil, not the plants.
    (helps if you have cluckies)

Thank you! I'll have to try and get some online, my local shop isn't getting any for a month or so ideally want to get them done before then, would a 5kg bag of layers with flubentvet I'm be enough for 9 chickens? Thanks again!

Best to read the instructions on the packaging. I have a dozen chooks and I just put a 20Kg bag in their feeder from memory and that lasted them about a week.

Which reminds me I must get some more. I think I got it online last time.

              Extract from Product Description

The poultry wormer is efective against gapeworm, large roundworm, caecal worm, hairworm and gizzard worm. To be fed solely for 7 consecutive days. Withdraw feed 7 days before slaughter. Zero withdrawal period for eggs.

You will need to buy the same amount that your poultry would consume in a week on normal layers pellets, as Marriages Layers Pellets with Flubenvet acts as a replacement. As a quick example, 1kg per bird or one 10kg bag for 10 birds over a week.

              Edit ....

My guide is 0.125kg / bird / day which with 9 is 7.875kg. But 2 bags is going to do it, and...

This product has a short shelf life due to the process in which the medication is added so it is recommended that you only purchase when you are ready to use it.

so best to use it all.

If you can, let them out onto a fresh area of ground to prevent reinfesting

Layer's pellets with Flubenvet aren't easy to buy over the counter as they have a short shelf life. Give them a call before you travel.
