  • Flower ID please!

Hmm, this one may even be too difficult for VC

I'm bagging up my seeds for swaps and I've come across a pot with some seeds in. I've saved them for the flower swap but all I've written on the paper is large clock head!

I will know it as soon as I see a photo but I can't even google it because I can't remember the colour - I know where it grows in the garden though ....its so frustrating, I've been racking my brains but nothing is there

Anyway, it had a large clock head, really beautiful .....I'm sure I posted something about it before seeds are about half inch long, flower has long strap like leaves, possible a meadow flower, will self sow. Plant maybe about one and a half foot tall - purple or pink flowers at s guess! Flowers early in the season.

Please, someone save me - I can't believe I can't remember what it is called

    Sounds like an allium?

    Scabiosa?

It's not an allium, definitely a "wild" flower. I got the plant from a specialist nursery a few years back. The clock heads are like the dandion but much larger and prettier!

      Grrr....I'm going nuts!

Goats beard? It's a salsify I think. Think I've seen yellow and purple types. I'd love to try growing the purple one.
