  • Blackberries

These were picked today, in the drizzle. Actually the cold weather helps, the wasps are not around.
There are a lot more to come from our Thornless variety.

The box is about 12 inches by 6 by the way, but we did not weight the fruit.

If it ever stops raining I need to go out and pick ours too!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Picked a couple of pounds of blackberries last night. We also had a bucket of apples from next door's tree (well, they had started crashing through our greenhouse - new glass needed, and we had permission to harvest or prune.) This resulted in 2 large poly boxes of pie filling to freeze. One will be for Sunday - our 37th wedding anniversary (don't look old enough do I - terrible when you have to prompt people!) and one for our Natural History Society meeting in Sept when it's nice to have a Nat Hist pudding. (Already got Nat Hist wine - dandelion).
Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Picked a couple of pounds last night. No need for them at the moment so have frozen them for future use. Our new freezer is coming into it's own now with all this new produce, I just love this time of year. Also swapped a cucumber for some damsons yesterday so have cooked them up for the freezer too.
