  • Ideas to raise dustbin for drip irrigation

I want to implement a drip irrigation for my greenhouse.
I have put pipes on the gutters and have an old dustbin to fill with the rain water.
It has a tap to supply the drip irrigation.
I had the dustbin mounted on top of another old dustbin to give the water some "head".
But it's a bit flimsy once full of water.

So any ideas on alternative stands?
I could use some flags mounted end on with a flag on top.
    Any others

    Thanks
    Jimmy

You really should build a proper sturdy wooden base... if that bin full of water freezes over winter and then falls, it could destroy your greenhouse - it happened to the bloke on the plot next to me... he can't even replace all the broken panes because the frame was totally bent out of shape.

I was thinking of wood but it rots, particularity as water will be sloping around.
A falling frozen block would be messy !

How about filling the lower bin with something - soil or sand maybe?

Some angle-iron with holes in it would be simplest - if you can get some cheap.

Breeze blocks under a paving slab?
