  • Lifting and Storing Onions

Hello, we have just lifted our red and white onions as most of the leaves had dropped and now started to die. we have cut the top foliage off and left about six inches on and then put them in square basket trays so they can dry out and aerate. We also left the roots on and haven't cut them off. They have been left on the side in our potting shed.

Basically, have we done the right thing and how long will they last?

    Kind Regards........Rob

Once fully dried they should last through until next March if kept in a dry frost free place. It's too warm indoors if you have Central heating.
