Hi everyone. Been a while since on . But im back leeching advice if i can.
Indian corn is growing like stink. Very green and about 8/9ft tall. But no tassles yet. Bit worried ill never get cobs in time for halloween. Will the tassles ever come?Pumpkins growing well and two swelling lovely. Toms seem to have stayed green for yonks just dont seem to be ripening, again will they ever?
See i only come on here to leech wisdom

Weather is the key to answer your problems/queries - best book in some hot, sunny weeks, say 27+ C - only a slightly more serious note, you don't say if your tomatoes are outside or not - if they aren't in a greenhouse then any extra protection warmth you can give them will be well received, particularly some sort of cover to keep them from getting rained on.

My corn is in the greenhouse and is full of cobs just now, last year I grew it outside, but had to build a cane structure round it and covered it with fleece. It sort of worked, I got some ripened cobs but the wind kept beating it to pieces. Not sure which bit of Scotland you are in, but it's not ideal to grow corn up here.

I have tomatoes in an unheated greenhouse and the only ones that are starting to turn red are on a plant that I took a gamble with - it was an extra seed sown in February as insurance and was moved into the greenhouse at the beginning of April. The March sown plants are nowhere near producing red tomatoes - I wouldn't be expecting ripe fruit from these until sometime towards the end of August (although cherry varieties, which I am not growing would fruit earlier).

Im down near lanark. Ive got it well sheltered but it was getting too tall for greenhouse so had to put it outside. Ill get some fleece for it. Seed was from an american friend who grows it in michigan. Im crossing everything i get a cob. I do have another variety 'glass gem' that ive kept in greenhouse as its smaller so maybe that will produce. Id love to see a pic of your corn!
