  • Polycarb Clear or Frosted?

Hi all, first post in quite some time but I have managed to get hold of a greenhouse (8x6) for £8 with no glazing.
I have a 2 year old daughter and twins on the way so I will be using polycarb for safety, can anyone tell me the benefits of using clear over frosted or vice verse?

Clear Polycarb is not as clear as glass so I would imagine frosted would be even more opaque & let less light in. I personally would go for clear as that's what greenhouse are intended to do. Shading can always be added later but you can't take it off if you buy frosted.

Are you looking at single skinned polycard or twin wall - twin wall is warmer

We've been leaning towards twin wall with us being in the north east, but I'm open to suggestions

I'd say defo twin wall, and you probably will need it clear to get as much sun as possible, both because you are up north

that being said, I do get problems with plants burning in the summer with my clear greenhouse, but as someone said you can always do stuff to shade the plants

I have clear twinwall in Newcastle - I hang fleece on the sunny side to help with shading

You'll want 4mm twin wall + w clips unless the polycarb slides into channels, you'll have to check the greenhouse.

Not all greenhouses use w clips, some have channels that the poly slides into e.g Palram Greenhouse:
