I don't know what varieties are best but I've just sowed a couple more Malaga melon seeds today, both emir & malaga say sow Feb-May. I might sow a few more to maximise my chances of growing one melon

Emir is a great melon for UK growing. Mine are going in the poly next weekend after the forecast cold snap this week, but they can tolerate a bit of cold anyway.

You should be ok, my melons have just appeared. I had 11 seeds in the packet so planted them all just to be on the safe side and...... you've guessed it ALL 11 have germinated.

People at work with allotmants will have to have one so they don't go to waste.

Now the child in me is taking over as I think about ask them later how big are yer melons now <snigger>

Its in an unheated propagator which is placed under the grow lights so should be warm in there.
