Pepper seeds from tescos peppers

Depends if they are from an f1 verity .for all the time and effort it takes to grow peppers id rather buy propper seeds.

Hi mic, that's the idea, just sit back and wait for them to sprout. The ones that get a sprout get potted on into some compost or similar. As jonny says you often get surer results with proper seed.

I grow sweet peppers this way.I don't bother with kitchen roll, just scrape them out straight onto seed compost and cover lightly. They germinate quickly in a warm place, and nearly every seed comes up, so now I only shake 3 or 4 out, it's heartbreaking to throw away sturdy little (free!) seedlings that I just don't have room for. I generally let each plant have three or four peppers on.

don't know how many will grow from the lot but worse case scenario and they all germinate (30-40!) im sure someone at work will take a few off me.

I did the chilli seeds from an Birdseye from Tesco's few years back, had so many plants was giving them away and they all produced the good!!!! Didn't do the kitchen towel think just dried seeds out in brown paper bag and then planted them....

That's what I mean they will all grow, so now I only sow 3 or 4 seeds, which is still more than I have room for as I grow them on the windowsill, not having a greenhouse.

If they are the long thin red peppers, Ramiro - they are not f1 so they'll come true from seed.

You can buy seed here Capsicum annum, Ramiro - Sweet Horn Pepper, Ramiro - Norfolk Cottage Garden

but cheaper to buy some peppers, eat them and then use the seeds as you have, and I do lol

Today I've sown my self saved seeds from tesc0 brought peppers.
Sweet pepper lamuyo
Sweet pepper Palermo

Lamuyo seeds - this will be the 3rd year I've grown these from the same lot of saved seeds.
Palermo seeds - new for this year. So will have to wait and seed what I get.

I've never had much luck with sweet peppers proper seed company or saved from supermarket peppers. But it's all good fun.

If you feel you would like to try something in the garden with flowers or veg. I would recommend that you do it, or you could be wondering if it would have worked, so I hope you are pleased with the results.
SP I have never had good results with sweet peppers either although they are supposed to be easy to grow I wonder if the season is too short for them, I have sown some pepper seeds now with intentions of keeping the greenhouse a bit warmer this year so will see if I am successful with them this year

I sowed some palermo seeds saved from a lidl pepper at the weekend - will see how they go. Have also sowed some bought pepper seeds - frigadello (10p on wilko sale last year). Have sowed more of the frigadello - will probably grow 2 plants of the palermo to try them.....

never tried seeds from supermarket stuff, as I grow peppers those I cannot find in shops

I'm growing Palermo seeds from Lidl peppers, it's been successful in the past from long red peppers. If I chit using kitchen roll it's usually at room temperature.
