  • Loosing my plot (not actually )

Does anyone else have the same trouble as me.my plot neighbour as turned his plot into an extension of his garden and as a 5ft hedge all way round.my problem is I put a raised bed in my polytunnel and lifted the weed control fabric and started to turn the soil to find that his hedge roots are growing under my polytunnel. There's no point talking to him as he's a complete $h! £€ .as anyone else come across problems like this and is there anything I can do to stop this cheers.

Can you put in a barrier? You have my sympathies - I have a thick blackthorn hedge running along the south edge of my plot which is not to be removed. I end up digging out suckers & roots each year. At least with only a year's growth they aren't thick roots.

Not without lifting around 70 paving flags .think I might after flag my polytunnel and grow everything back in pots.

Can you dig a narrow trench down the side of your PT and drop in some lengths of wriggly tin?

Not sure if it's still easy to find free sheets?

Would a 2 or 3ft deep barrier be enough ?

Or you could use the barrier sold to contain bamboo. Another thought, raised beds in the tunnel.

Some people are so thoughtless. Can you ask to have the hedge trimmed down? The bigger the hedge gets the more the roots will grow

Had a so called expert from the committe tell me that if I cut them back they will take 20 years to grow back so cut them back and gunnar block with corrogated tin .he won't cut the hedge down and in all honesty it provides my tunnel with a bit of protection from wind .would have just been nice to have an hand doing this.
