Have noticed these past few days some black vine weevil in the house...does this mean disaster for my trees and plants which are in pots outside? Is there anything I can do now that would prevent any grubs taking hold?

Have you bought a new house plant in the last few weeks? My weevils are outside I thought theyd be a problem but haven't noticed them affect anything since January/early springtime, they ate some of my Brussels sprouts leaves & then disappeared?

No JJ, no new indoor plants but the windows and back door have been open these past few days so I'm assuming they are coming from outside.

If the larvae or eggs could be in the soil water with water containing a drop of neem oil, kills the larvae and thee eggs will not germinate.

You could try Armillatox. It's no longer sold as a pesticide as it would have cost too much to comply with regs. Found old post with dosage details. Armillatox in the Garden - John Holiday | My Garden

Thanks for that tip Starloc, im always looking for organic ways of pest control as my garden is based on pollinator friendy plants and wildlife- did read that if you think a pot has grubs in it you can submerge the whole pot in water for 48 hrs as the grubs wont survive the dunking.
