  • Traditional Lincolnshire desserts????

I was just wondering if any of you can help out a friend of mine?
Her daughter is wanting to have traditional and locally sourced foods for her wedding.
Everything is sorted apart from the dessert.

I've tried doing a bit of a goooogle and come up with traditional/ famous ingredients, but wondered if I'd missed something obvious or little known???

this is the best site I found..

    https://h2g2.com/edited_entry/A87769543

so maybe the chef could create something from Apple, ginger biscuits, honey and ice creams?????

but I thought I'd pick your brains please...any suggestions please which I can pass on?

From what I can see, Carrot Puds seem poupular in that neck of the woods:

Mmm...yep, I'd seen that and thought I'd give it a go sometime...looks yummy

Too heavy to finish off a wedding feast apparently !...it's going to be finished off with a wedding cake of cheeses and plum bread so...

Ice cream sounds a good idea to me especially after a heavy meal.

I went to a friends wedding in Switzerland and their wedding cake was a huge icecream one!! It was fantastic. Ice cream is a good option after a big meal, especially if it comes drizzled with some alcohol, perhaps serve with some ginger/honey biscuit thing.

I know it might be a bit heavy, but ice cream drizzled with Baileys is gorgous.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Apple mousse? I use this recipe, and make it lighter by using whipped whipping cream folded in, instead of double cream. Serve with gold flecked langue-de-chats (langues-de chat?) or tuiles. Yum.

Why not have what ever the bride wants for dessert, but have it made with all local ingredients. I'm sure the new mother in law to be would happily make it for 300 gusts .
