  • Passiflora edulis fruit

    I am growing passiflora edulis for their fruit but was wondering will it produce fruits in the NE of England?
    I work in a garden center and when I mentioned this my boss said of be very luck to get fruits in the UK??

    I had it growing on my garage wall at my old house. It grew amazingly well and was covered in fruits. I found them quite plain, but you can cook them to make them more interesting. The one I have at this house is rubbish, In fact I've bought four for different parts of the garden and they're all struggling. So it can be done, perhaps the garage wall was key as it was warmer than the fence panels these four are growing against
    You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one...

      Sounds interesting, I'm trying a Passiflora tacsonia hybrid in the polytunnel this year its supposed to be hardy to -5C so hopeful of getting something tasty. I did look into edulis but lack of hardiness put me off.

        Im trying passiflora quadrangularis also but that is just for the flowers. Im gonna grow it up the ktchen wall so fingers crossed ill get some fruit
