It helps with seed saving, but its not drastic. It would help more if it was mixta

The University of Illinois site says
Jack-Be-Little miniature pumpkins because they are all members of the same botanical species (C. Pepo).

Most of the squashes I intend to grow are pepo so if I have a go at seed saving I'll have to resort to rubber bands and paint brushes. At the moment most are common and the seeds easily available (plus a couple of f1 hybrids) so I may put off tickling them until I've more experience, although I may have a go at tickling Miranda

PS Which mixtas/argyrospermas are you growing?
I thought they were mostly cushaws & not grown that often here in the UK.

both c.pepo - am growing rugosa friulana with other courgettes this year & saving seed. My notes say it's a sprawling bush. I don't grow the squashes with naked seed so don't know about kakai. I'd imagine that was vining.

I will hand pollinate but also wanted to give consideration who goes where as well. Oh and I hope Miranda doesn't mind

Ah bless ya. ty. Apparently kakai is semi bush what ever that means, guess I will find out soon. The only mixta I have is cushaw green striped. I found a site that said quite a few small pumpkins are mixta (hence my confusion) so now I can strike that off as cobblers.
