I normally avoid peat based compost. However, when I needed small quantities of ericaceous compost for planting a camellia, I bought the stuff in the above link. Probably has peat in it. Sadly. I haven't seen ericaceous compost marked as peat free at local garden centres. Apparently Vital Earth make it.Comment

I've heard that too and meant to pop in. Do they just give you a bag full of them? I would assume you have to compost them down first or they would absorb nutrients from the soil.Originally posted by Bigmallly View PostComment

That reminds me - our local Sains cafe has a notice up saying free spent coffee, so worth asking there if you have a store convenient to you.Comment
