  • Mini fruit trees arrived this morning, two are ok but..

one was broken in two places.

It's on the main part of the tree, it's snapped but not come off completely. I've sellotaped it in place and used twine to hold it upright. The leaves above that part look ok.

Is it likely to be ok?

    Get another one.

No. You have paid for a decent tree. Get in touch with your supplier, tell what has happened and ask for a replacement. Keep your damaged one as your supplier is within their rights to ask for it back, if they do make sure you get reimbursed for your postage. (they might just tell you to keep it), but make sure you get a replacement.

All this is a nuisance but you must have a decent tree if you want it to last years and provide you with fruit.

Ultimately any company worth anything will be happy to oblige.

If they don't tell us on here who they were and we will all gang up on them

I'm going to write to them about it, I'm curious as to whether the tree will be salvageable though.

        Anyone?

It's still alive but with very little effort would snap right off.

Don't really know but can say that if it has broken above the graft then it might well shoot and grow okay. That is what happened to an apple of mine anyway.

When you write to them try and enclose a photograph of the damage. A picture can paint a thousand words in some instances!
