  • Aldi - Special Buys - 20th March

I have been keeping my eye out for gardening offers as this is my first year and I have a lot to buy (and learn). Not sure if this is the right place but I thought Id let anyone who doesn't know already the offers Aldi will have in from 20th March that are garden related:

    Full details here:

I am most interested in the Strawberry plants, 6pk £2.99. They are a Main season (Elsanta) variety. Never bought any plants from Aldi before so not sure of quality, has anyone had any success?

They will also have 10 varieties of vegetable plug plants. £1.99. I'm trying to do mine from seed to learn as much as I can so I'm not too interested by these.

If your local store is anything like mine, the staff never use a watering can so my advice would be to get there early in the offer period.Remember also that the plants will most likely be coming straight from the growers heated greenhouse (another good reason to be early),so take them indoors & harden them off gradually.

Thanks for the advice. I will get there on the 20th to buy some of the strawberries to give them a go.

I remember last year B&M had shelves and shelves of large herbs I bought some for my kitchen windowsill when they first got them. When I next returned to B&M the ones that were left (lots of them too) were all drying up and looked like they hadn't been watered. I rescued a few as they were heavily reduced but they didn't survive.

I went into B&M a few weeks ago for bark and they had the herbs in again this year. I think the advice would be the same buy them now. I hope there still ok.
