  • FINALLY - Kingfisher

At long last I have been able to capture (multiple) photographs of a Kingfisher at my favourite reserve - Far Ings near Barton in Humberside. It appeared and sat on a small dam at a location I would never have expected to see it on the reserve and also treated me to mobbing a heron, behaviour I haven't heard of.

I've only ever seen one Kingfisher that was when we were camping at Cannock Chase, it flew by us really quickly so you're lucky to get photos.

Don't hold your breath as this sort of technology takes me ages - but I promise I shall do my best

My husband used to live on a boat (before he met me!) and he used to wake up every morning to see kingfishers diving off the railings...and he never took a photograph!

I used to have them perch on my fishing rods along with dragon flies & other beautiful winged creatures.

I have seen one a few times along the canal here. But never ever managed to take a photo of it. Well I did but it was just a blurr in the distance!

                          Lovely photos!

                            Superb photos.

i was privileged to have a weekend fishing on a lake that was closed to everyone else a few years ago. A pair of kingfishers had nested in the bank and i managed to sit there for several hours watching them bringing food to their babies.

Probably one of the best weekend's fishing ive had yet i never caught a thing !!!!!
