  • citrus compost

I'm needing to repot a lime tree. I've been to the garden centers looking for citrus compost and can't find any. I was wondering if there was another compost I could use? I dont know if they need acid/alkaline... do I use ericacious (think that's spelt right) or can I use multipurpose? Any help in this would be appreciative.

I grow mine in John Innes number 3 and just feed with a relevant fertiliser in spring and autumn.

JI3 is good for any permanent planting - unless your plant REALLY wants acid soil. Lots of loam in it and more nutrients. I use it for anything I want to stay in its pot. (Don't mean Triffids here, just plants I'm keeping for several years!)
