Hi everyone
Last year my husband and I relocated from Ireland to a small town outside Berlin. Our dream has recently come true of owning our own place to grow things we really like. We now have 1200 square feet of space that Requires an unbelievable amount of work to make it growable-in (since Ive been learning German I have been doing a lot of word inventing).We started on Monday this week and somehow I have still had time to trawl the Internet looking for some interesting folk who also want to share about their gardens. We began by making a plan and started by clearing the rotten (and massive) fruit trees ; plum, pear and apple. We did not want to cut them down but they had all been left to rot for the last ten years in a damp area and there was no salvaging possible at all.
The neighbors at these gardens are very friendly and have popped by to see us working (or to see the crazy Irish German husband and wife team who have taken on the impossible wet piece of land!)
We love to eat fresh fruit and veg all throughout the year but have been continuously disappointed by the stuff we were bringing home from the supermarket. How can stuff go off that quick??
Anyway it seems as if I'm rambling a bit...thanks for reading. I look forward to reading all your interesting tips, advice and general information here. I intend to do some sort of a blog with photos so I don't forget how hard we have worked
