  • Smart phone friendly

I know a whole raft of Grapes won't have any interest in what I'm about to suggest/query, but are there any plans to have a mobile/smartphone friendly version of the site made available?

Since becoming more of a smartphone/tablet user (plus a host of other factors) I rarely visit the site, and wondered if there where any plans for something more in keeping with the "quick access" style of things such as FaceBook/Twitter/Instagram etc? I'd be more likely to be a regular visitor that way - not sure if anyone else would feel the same?

An app would be useful, but given the number of adverts that are shown I doubt how this could be compressed into something that is smartphone friendly. There are very few forums I know of that are app friendly.

I use a tablet to access the site via google with no problem, I would expect you should be able to do the same on a smart phone.

App would be useful. I access it daily on the fruity phone; so it certainly wouldn't be bad.

I have used it on my phone, but I really can't be arrised with it, as it takes too long, and is too small. N pleasing some folk, huh!?

I can view easily on my phone and am responding here too but it's rubbish for long messages and impossible if you try and quote anything.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Anything I post or do on here before early evening is done via my Android phone. It takes a bit of practice, but the site is useable that way.
However, accessing the forum via an app IS being looked into at the moment; Admin are working on it. We mods have suggested making an ad-free version available for a small fee (like others apps have), so hopefully that will be taken into consideration as well. More news when we have it

vBulletin (which the site runs on) has an app. But it needs the site owner to spend £ to have it available...

I mainly access via my phone, hence numerous typos...

Double tapping the screen optimises the page and shrinks text to fit

I use iPad most of the time. It's a steam powered one though so does not do photos well! At all really........But it is very convenient and excellent for accessing the vine otherwise.....

Those on Android, do you use the Swype function? Much easier than trying to type individual letters

I use swype but sometimes you get some interesting combinations. I usualy get 'flyte' for 'for', 'basho' for 'nap'....I've never even heard of those two words before now, or at least not in the context of a haiku master.....
And 'ducking' instead of ....the obvious....must have been watching 4 weddings and funeral when they made that substitution....

I would use an Android app too if available..

Sarz....the latest version of Android 4.2.2 has that facility as standard on the stock keyboard....very useful and makes input so much quicker..Love it!
