  • Dwarf Beans - Tendercrop - Support or not?

    Hi Guys

Just planting out my beans into a container that I can move in and out of the greenhouse until the frosts have passed. Does this variety need support?
    I'm reading conflicting things.

    Any help or advice appreciated.

I don't know that variety, but Tendergreen is very dwarf & compact ~ most dwarf/bush beans are, and if planted fairly close together, they hold each other up

My first year sowing them and like Two Sheds said the ones that are close together are holding eachother up. Someone in another thread said you could make a little string fence around them (just some pea stick or bamboo with one length of string) to stop them flopping over.

I think you're probably right RL, although I would have thought that 4 was 3 too many. I grow mine close together in the ground and like TS says, they hold each other up.

Either that, or a mother-f***ing [big] bucket

I sow my dwarf beans about 4"-6" apart
